My main final drawing drew on research which updated the Nolli representation of Rome drawn in 1748 which made a distinction between private and civic space white black and white rendering [see here for more]. The drawing shows retail interiors and open piazzas as equal and my project takes the white space up into the vertical axis as the model demonstrates with the ramp and auditorium which are an extension of the public realm. The absence of the embassy levels on the model shows how the secure private spaces are separated in the project from the retail and promotion of the lower levels.
