Live projects are an integral part of the course at Sheffield which take up the first 6 weeks of the year and work with real clients with real needs. In 2008 I was part of a 11 person team who were given the brief of an outdoor classroom in Sheffield’s ancient woodland. This entailed learning everything from how to fell a tree to what bolt is best for different diametres of round section timber. To read about the process as it unfolded please visit The outdoor classroom blog which we ran during the project. The film below also acts as a presentation of the work we did.
